Costco's Camarillo Warehouse Nears Completion with October 30 Opening

The 160,000-square-foot Costco in Camarillo is set to open on October 30, 2026 after construction nears its final stage.

Costco's much-awaited Camarillo warehouse is in the home stretch of construction, with an opening date scheduled for October 30, 2026. The 160,000-square-foot facility will house the retailer's typical offerings such as bulk groceries, $4.99 rotisserie chickens, an optical department, pharmacy, food court and a 32-pump gas station that opened on May 1. Around 900 parking stalls, including dedicated electric-vehicle charging stations, will serve shoppers.

The project, first proposed to the city in 2022 with an initial 2024 target, faced delays from the group Ventura County Citizens Against Mega Gas, which demanded a broader environmental review. A California appeals court later sided with the city, clearing the way for construction to proceed. City Manager Greg Ramirez hailed the development as a major win for Camarillo, expecting it to boost the local economy and generate significant sales-tax revenue.

Why it matters

The new Costco will create jobs and increase local tax revenue, reshaping shopping options for Camarillo residents.
