Couple livestreams suicide in Gujarat forest, prompting shock and police probe

In Dahod district, Gujarat, a 22-year-old man named Rajesh Ninama and a 16-year-old girl who were romantically involved took their own lives by hanging in a forest area of Haripur village, Singvad taluka. The couple, both residents of Limkheda taluka, had faced family opposition to their relationship, including a recent failed attempt to secure marriage permission from the man's parents. On Sunday around 10 a.m., Rajesh initiated an Instagram live broadcast, and the two proceeded to hang themselves from a tree while over 50 online viewers watched.
Police from Randhikpur police station were notified, reached the scene, and retrieved the bodies. No suicide note was found, and authorities are probing for any other motives behind the act.
