Couple sues TV 2 over hidden-camera documentary, seeks temporary injunction

Christian Sønstebø and Carine Smeby Schackt have filed a lawsuit requesting a temporary court order against TV 2, alleging hidden-camera use and misrepresentation in the documentary “Kollaps - profeten i Bærum.”

The day after TV 2 aired the documentary series “Kollaps - profeten i Bærum,” partners Christian Sønstebø (47) and Carine Smeby Schackt (44) announced they have lodged a legal complaint seeking a temporary injunction against the network. In a text they explained the injunction aims to halt the broadcast until the dispute is settled. The pair argue that, after granting the production team access for over two years under an agreement promising a comprehensive and nuanced portrayal, the final program omitted essential context, mishandled confidential material, and used hidden-camera footage, creating a misleading image.

Program editor Trygve Rønningen said TV 2 has received the request and will present its side in court. The couple stressed respect for the judicial process while asserting that differing viewpoints do not excuse the alleged distortions. The case now awaits a court ruling.
