Court fines woman 600만 원 for stalking actor Hwang Jung-min and orders therapy
A woman in her 40s was sentenced to a 600만 원 fine and 40 hours of stalking-prevention treatment after repeatedly contacting actor Hwang Jung-min despite his refusals.
Uijeongbu District Court's Goyang branch judge Kim Young-a imposed a 600만 원 fine on the defendant and mandated participation in a 40-hour anti-stalking program. The court found she sent dozens to hundreds of messages daily, causing the victim fear and anxiety. Although she showed no remorse and blamed the victim, the judge noted her lack of prior convictions as a mitigating factor. The prosecution had originally sought a 1,000만 원 fine.
