Court issues in-absent arrest warrant for boyfriend in suitcase homicide

Fishermen on the Olt River near Vâlcea uncovered a suitcase containing the body of a 28-year-old woman from Filiași, Dolj County, prompting a homicide investigation. The victim displayed several bruises and was discovered without any garments. Her father alerted authorities via the emergency number, after which police identified her 30-year-old boyfriend, who lived with her in Vâlcea, as the primary suspect.
He alleges that a jealous dispute occurred the night of the disappearance and that he could not reach her. On Wednesday evening, the Tribunalul Vâlcea issued a preventive arrest warrant in absentia for the suspect.
