Veteran film critic Godfrey Cheshire has released Cheshire on Film: Life & Writings, a book that gathers many of his seminal pieces and adds memoir-style reflections on a golden era of alternative-weekend criticism. The new volume highlights notable interviews with David Lynch and Charlton Heston and doubles as an introductory guide to Iranian and Chinese cinema.
Readers can explore Cheshire’s Substack for further commentary. He will hold a Q&A and signing at the Rialto theater in North Carolina on September 9, and a separate event with Alex Winter at the IFC Film Center in New York City on September 21.
