Critica Secures First Indicated Resource at Jupiter Rare Earth Deposit in WA
Critica Limited announced that its Jupiter project in Western Australia now has a maiden indicated resource of 160 million tonnes grading 1,700 ppm total rare earth oxides.
Critica Limited achieved a key de-risking milestone at its Jupiter rare-earth project by delivering a maiden indicated resource of 160 million tonnes at 1,700 ppm TREO, based on an independent SRK Consulting estimate. The upgrade follows a 125 m by 125 m infill drilling campaign that converted 10 % of the deposit from inferred to indicated status, while the remaining 1.5 billion tonnes stay inferred. Magnet rare earth oxides, essential for high-performance magnets, represent 25 % of the new indicated resource at 420 ppm.
The company plans to release a scoping study soon, with Sedgman conducting the initial analysis and prefeasibility work slated thereafter. Jupiter’s shallow, flat-lying clay-hosted profile and low uranium-thorium levels could simplify mining and permitting. Ongoing metallurgical tests have shown an 81 % recovery of magnet rare earths, boosting concentrate grade and potentially lowering processing costs. Critica also highlighted its Mt Lindsay tungsten-tin project in Tasmania, which recently yielded a $1.42 billion pre-tax NPV in a scoping study.
Why it matters
The resource upgrade moves Jupiter closer to development, potentially adding a major new source of critical minerals for global tech and clean-energy supply chains.
