Crocodile attack at Port Moresby wildlife park kills employee

At Adventure Park in Port Moresby, a staff member entered a crocodile enclosure to feed the animal and was attacked, with the reptile clamping onto his legs. Onlookers gathered, some handing him a pole and trying to pull him from the water, but the crocodile kept him restrained for over an hour. Gibson John, an eyewitness, reported the victim was in severe pain and could barely speak, repeatedly stating he had done nothing wrong.

Emergency services, including St John’s Ambulance, were eventually contacted, and the man was rushed to 3 Mile General Hospital. He arrived having lost a leg and succumbed to his injuries early the next morning. The victim hailed from the Western Islands region of northern Papua New Guinea.
