A forest fire that entered Greece from Bulgaria ignited near Roussa in the Soufli municipality, prompting a rapid deployment of firefighters.
The blaze crossed the border from Bulgaria into the Roussa area of Soufli, Greece, and was reported shortly after noon on Sunday. Authorities mobilised about 60 firefighters, four foot-patrol teams from the 7th EMODE, 13 fire engines and a helicopter. The local municipality supplied additional water resources to aid the effort.
