Crypto mogul sues Chinese actress over $4.5 million bride-price claim

Justin Sun, the billionaire creator of the Tron blockchain, has taken legal action against Chinese actress Jing Tian and her parents to reclaim a 30 million-yuan bride-price, about $4.5 million, that he transferred after proposing in January. He detailed the relationship and its collapse in a widely viewed X post, citing a failed surrogacy arrangement and a $50 million demand from the actress’s side that he refused. Jing Tian replied on Weibo, saying she would never “sell love for money” and expressed confidence in the legal process.

The lawsuit has been accepted by a court, but no hearing date has been disclosed. Sun, valued at roughly $8.5 billion, is a prominent figure in the crypto sector, and the case draws attention amid tightening Chinese regulations on crypto and offshore money flows.
