Crystal Palace explore signing Marseille midfielder Quinten Timber, Arsenal defender's twin
Crystal Palace have begun preliminary discussions about acquiring Marseille midfielder Quinten Timber, the twin of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber.
Crystal Palace are reportedly in the early stages of talks to sign Quinten Timber, a central midfielder for Marseille and the twin brother of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber. Born on 17 June 2001, the brothers began their careers together before their paths diverged, with Quinten joining Marseille after a stint at Feyenoord. Marseille have placed a price tag of about €22 million on him, but Porto have also entered negotiations, proposing between €15 million and €18 million.
Palace have listed him alongside Auxerre midfielder Kevin Danois as potential acquisitions, though no official offer has been made. Timber has indicated a preference for a move to the Premier League, and his older brother Jurrien currently plays for Arsenal, while another sibling, Dylan, competes for MVV Maastricht.
Why it matters
The move could strengthen Palace's midfield and adds intrigue with twin brothers playing for rival Premier League clubs.
