Cubs fan pulls woman aside while chasing home run ball at Wrigley Field

A spectator at Wrigley Field shoved a young woman as he tried to retrieve a home run ball, sparking outrage on social media.

In the bottom of the third inning at Wrigley Field, Pete Crow-Armstrong's blast reduced the Cardinals' lead to 3-2 as James Triantos scored. A man wearing a Kenny Lofton jersey behind a woman in the same row lunged for the home run ball, pulling the woman backward and causing her to stumble to the ground. Video of the incident went viral, drawing a flood of critical remarks on X about the aggressiveness of some Cubs supporters.

It remains unclear whether the fan actually secured the ball. The Cubs were later defeated 11-4, ending the series, yet they still lead the NL Wild Card race with a 72-53 record. Their next series begins Monday against the White Sox.
