Custodial worker arrested for photographing women's soccer team from ceiling
A custodial employee at Wilmington College was detained after hiding in the locker-room ceiling and taking photos of the women’s soccer players as they changed.
Wilmington College officials discovered that a contract custodial worker, Jayson Barker of Jeffersonville, had positioned himself in the ceiling space above the women’s soccer locker room and taken photographs of the athletes while they were undressing. Campus safety personnel detained Barker before Wilmington Police arrived at the Scheve one outlet Center shortly after 9:40 p.m. He is charged with eleven counts of voyeurism and is being held at the Clinton County Jail on a $22,000 cash surety bond, with a court date set for Oct. 5.
The college emphasized its priority on student safety, providing counseling services to the affected players and assisting law-enforcement investigators. The incident highlights concerns about campus security and the handling of custodial staff access to sensitive areas.
