Customs officers seize 22 kilos of cocaine hidden in foreign car in Trysil

In February, a foreign-registered vehicle crossing the Trysil border was subjected to an expanded customs inspection after initial suspicion. X-ray scans revealed hidden material beneath the floor, which turned out to be vacuum-packed blocks. A rapid on-site test confirmed the presence of cocaine, leading officers to confiscate 22 kilograms of the drug.

Section chief Stig Hagen highlighted that traffickers frequently change their routes and commended the vigilance of the customs team. He noted that such a seizure is one of the biggest the agency has achieved locally and emphasized its role in disrupting organized crime financing. The incident underscores rising cocaine use in Norway and increasing smuggling pressure across the Nordics.
