Cyberattack disrupts refrigeration systems at Intermarché and Coopérative U stores

A cyber intrusion is currently compromising Danfoss refrigeration controls in Intermarché and Coopérative U supermarkets, affecting dozens of outlets.

An ongoing cyberattack is targeting the temperature-regulation hardware supplied by Danfoss in major grocery chains. By using outdated software versions, the perpetrators have taken command of refrigeration units, leading to increased internal temperatures. Dominique Schelcher announced on X that the intrusion started during the night and now affects the cold-storage systems of multiple Coopérative U locations as well as roughly 150 Intermarché stores.

He confirmed that response teams, together with specialist frigorists, are fully mobilised to rectify the situation as swiftly as possible. A formal investigation has been launched to uncover the source and extent of the breach. Additional information will be provided as the incident evolves.
