Cybersecurity agency warns of fake parking-fine SMS scams impersonating TPARK

The National Cybersecurity Directorate has alerted the public to fraudulent SMS messages that claim unpaid parking fees and direct users to a counterfeit TPARK payment site.

The Directoratul Naţional de Securitate Cibernetică (DNSC) has issued a warning about SMS messages sent in the name of TPARK that falsely claim an outstanding parking charge. The messages, sent from an unrecognised number, pressure recipients to act quickly by threatening penalties and provide a link that looks like TPARK’s official site but actually redirects to a fraudulent page. That page copies TPARK’s logo and visual elements, then requests the vehicle’s license-plate number and payment information, funneling victims into a scam.

DNSC recommends not clicking links in unsolicited texts, checking domain authenticity before entering personal or banking data, and accessing TPARK services only via its official app or manually entered web address. Anyone who has already submitted card details should contact their bank to block the card and review unauthorized transactions.

Why it matters

The alert helps prevent financial loss and identity theft from a growing SMS phishing scheme targeting drivers.
