Cyclist killed in collision with car on Dyers Pass Road near Christchurch
A cyclist died after being struck by a car on Dyers Pass Road near Christchurch, police said.
Emergency crews responded to a crash on Dyers Pass Road near Te Rapaki-o-te Rakiwhakaputa at about 10:20 am on Friday. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, and the road between Summit Road and Governors Bay Road has been closed to traffic. St John dispatched an ambulance, a rapid response unit and an operations manager, while the Serious Crash Unit has been notified. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
