Czech Army conducts Industry Day to evaluate drone-countermeasure robots
The Czech Army hosted an Industry Day at the NATEP UGV range, showcasing unmanned ground systems from 24 domestic and foreign firms and testing them in rainy conditions.
The opening day of the drill featured presentations by drone-countermeasure system makers, followed by field trials on the recently opened NATEP UGV training area, overseen by the Army's Centre for Deployable Systems. Rainy weather added difficulty to the course, which includes thirteen varied obstacles. About 24 firms from the Czech Republic and abroad, including Israel, Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia and Poland, gathered for the Industry Day.
Organisers said the goal was to demonstrate current technologies to troops and allow commanders to evaluate the machines directly. The army seeks to understand market offerings and future trends, planning later scenario-based tests with selected companies. Participants highlighted shifts toward smarter onboard processing and increasing autonomy, with some platforms capable of following operators or navigating independently.
