Czech Crown Jewels Return to Prague for Public Exhibition Starting September 19

President Petr Pavel, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, Archbishop Stanislav Přibyl and other dignitaries will attend the ceremony marking the return of the Czech crown jewels to Prague. The jewels—crown, orb and scepter—have not been shown publicly since 1836 and are now exhibited in the Vladislav Hall beginning September 19. Organisers say the showcase follows the artifacts’ history from their storage at Karlštejn, their relocation to Vienna during the Thirty Years' War, and their ceremonial return in 1791, symbolising Czech statehood.

Additional items on view include a 1653 coronation robe, historic archive keys and portraits of past monarchs. The exhibition is intended to be accessible to a broad audience, continuing a trend of more frequent public displays under President Petr Pavel.
