Czech defence ministry blocks army chief Hlaváč's planned Kyiv visit
Army commander Hlaváč cannot travel to Kyiv for a security conference because the defence ministry has not granted the required permission.
Since taking over the army in June, Hlaváč sought to attend a conference in Kyiv, marking his first foreign trip in the role. The army spokesperson said the visit was only tentatively discussed and must be cleared by the defence minister or deputy. Neither Minister Zůna nor Deputy Minister Radovan Vích has approved the request, effectively preventing Hlaváč's participation. Former army chief Řehka made multiple trips to Ukraine, and Zůna had earlier indicated a planned visit before reportedly declining the invitation, according to SPD leader Tomio Okamura.
