Czech parliament set to vote on no-confidence motion against Babiš cabinet
Members of the Czech lower house will cast votes on a no-confidence motion targeting Prime Minister Andrej Babiš's coalition on Thursday.
The opposition, holding 92 of the 200 seats, has called for the vote over concerns about the 2027 budget deficit, alleged conflicts of interest involving Babiš, and perceived attacks on state institutions. A majority of 101 votes is needed to topple the government. The ruling ANO-SPD-Motorists alliance is expected to retain power, as it survived a similar motion in February.
Why it matters
The vote could determine whether Prime Minister Babiš remains in power, affecting Czech governance and policy direction.
