Czech police join 17-nation Interpol raid seizing $1.1 billion in illicit drugs
Czech authorities participated in an Interpol-coordinated operation with 16 other nations, confiscating 650 tonnes of illegal drugs and related chemicals worth over $1.1 billion.
The multinational crackdown, organized by Interpol, involved law-enforcement agencies from Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the United States and others, including Czech officials. Together they seized a massive cache of narcotics, precursors and pharmaceuticals, valued at more than $1.1 billion. The operation highlighted a growing market for vaping-related substances, and for the first time ketamine overtook methamphetamine in volume, with 17 tonnes recovered.
