Czech police mobilize massive forces to thwart illegal tuning rally in Prague and Brno
Police announced a large-scale operation to prevent the “Europe illegal season end 2026” car-tuning gathering, citing threats to traffic safety and public order.
A police spokesperson disclosed that the upcoming “Europe illegal season end 2026” gathering, scheduled for Prague and Brno, is expected to involve illegal street races, deliberate road blockades and attempts to impede police vehicles, as well as theft of traffic signs and pyrotechnic displays. The operation will draw personnel from every highway division, regional traffic oversight offices, local traffic inspectorates and the nationwide Special Department of Supervision for Bohemia and Moravia.
Because many drivers are anticipated to come from abroad, mobile units of the foreign police will also take part. A thermal-equipped helicopter and drones will provide aerial surveillance, while special order units stand ready for severe disturbances and an explosives expert will assess any fireworks used. Police will adjust measures as new intelligence arrives and will keep a watch on border checkpoints and key entry routes.

The crackdown aims to protect road users and prevent public disorder from a large, potentially dangerous illegal motorsport event.
