Czinger unveils organic-styled brake system on new 21C Spyder at Monterey

Monterey Car Week in California served as the stage for Czinger to present its updated 21C Spyder, a hybrid hypercar with tandem seating. The most notable addition is a pair of brake assemblies whose geometry appears organic, achieved through topology-optimization that reduces weight without sacrificing strength. These components are fabricated via direct-metal laser-sintering, a technique that Czinger’s founder Kevin Czinger first explored under the name Divergent 3D before launching the car company.
By building its own vehicle, Czinger seeks to prove the technology’s relevance to the broader automotive and aerospace sectors, where Divergent now supplies parts. While the car’s performance capabilities remain impressive, the engineering approach is the primary focus of the debut. The unveiling underscores the firm’s strategy of using a flagship model to attract contract work from larger manufacturers.
