Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb hit by $300,000 burglary during training camp
While attending the Cowboys' training camp in Oxnard, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb returned to find his home broken into, with more than $300,000 in goods, including four designer bags, stolen.
During the Cowboys' month-long training camp in Oxnard, California, star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was away from his house when a break-in took place. Police records show the crime happened between midnight and 3 a.m. on July 30, after a window was broken to gain entry. The next day a worker at the property noticed the damage and alerted authorities.
Investigators say more than $300,000 worth of items, among them four luxury handbags, were taken, but no arrests have been announced. Lamb follows former teammate Linval Joseph, whose Minnesota home was robbed in November 2024, as the second Cowboys player hit by such a crime. Recent years have seen similar burglaries of NFL stars like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Joe Burrow and Shedeur Sanders, prompting the NFL to circulate a security alert to team security chiefs and the players' union.
Why it matters
The theft highlights a growing security risk for professional athletes and the NFL's response to protect them.
