Dallas Stars replace Pride Night with Women in Sports themed game

The Dallas Stars confirmed they will not host an LGBTQ Pride Night during the 2026-2027 season, marking the first omission in five years. No detailed explanation was provided for the change. In its place, the club will present a game called "Hockey Unites Us: Women in Sports Night" on March 23, featuring the Carolina Hurricanes as opponents.

According to spokesperson Joe Calvillo, the new format allows the team to celebrate a distinct underrepresented group each season. The NHL does not require teams to hold Pride events, leaving the decision to each organization. This season's calendar also includes observances of Black history, Hockey Fights Cancer, Noche Mexicana, as well as honors for the U.S. military and first responders.
