Dalmia Bharat shares tumble over 6% after reporting Q2 loss of ₹205 crore
Cement maker Dalmia Bharat saw its stock fall more than 6% to a 52-week low following a ₹205 crore loss in the July-September quarter.
Dalmia Bharat's stock opened at ₹1,545 on the NSE, roughly 5% below the previous close, and continued to decline, reaching a 52-week low of ₹1,526.10, a drop of more than 6%. The cement producer posted a loss of ₹205 crore for the July-September quarter, despite a 4% increase in revenue to ₹3,563 crore compared with the same period last year. The loss was amplified by a one-time ₹339 crore charge for asset impairment and a separation scheme for eligible employees.
EBITDA contracted by 29% year-on-year to ₹493 crore, with the margin falling from 20.37% to 13.8%, reflecting higher operating expenses. Following the results, analysts downgraded the stock to “Add” and lowered the target price to ₹1,825 from ₹2,225, while noting the company remains on track to expand cement capacity to 67 mt by FY28E.
