Danantara commits $250 million to Texas oil producer HighPeak
Danantara Indonesia, via PT Danantara Investment Management, is injecting US$250 million into HighPeak Energy through convertible preferred shares.
Danantara Indonesia, through PT Danantara Investment Management, announced a US$250 million investment in HighPeak Energy Inc., a Texas oil and gas company active in the Permian Basin. The financing will be provided via phased issuances of convertible preferred shares, granting Danantara a seat on HighPeak’s board and the option to convert to common stock or join future private placements. Danantara’s CEO Pandu Sjahrir highlighted the strategic fit with Indonesia’s long-term energy goals and the potential for knowledge sharing.
HighPeak President and CEO Michael Hollis said the partnership will accelerate development of its extensive Permian assets and expand drilling activities. The agreement also includes training and secondment programs for Indonesian workers, aiming to replicate advanced drilling techniques such as horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing in Indonesia’s own fields.
