Danish premier rebuffs plastic surgeon's unsolicited Instagram beauty tips

Mette Frederiksen, Denmark’s prime minister, used Instagram to call out a plastic surgeon who messaged her with a proposal to correct a perceived blemish on her nose. She highlighted a pattern of unsolicited remarks about her teeth, hair and a alleged wart, emphasizing that she is satisfied with her appearance as a woman nearing 50. Frederiksen posted the surgeon’s message without naming him and replied that she does not need a male doctor’s opinion on her body.

In the same post she urged correspondents to focus on more meaningful topics rather than her looks. The Social Democrat, serving her third term since 2019, reiterated Denmark’s commitment to backing Ukraine and opposing former U.S. President Donald Trump’s ambitions concerning Greenland. She concluded by sending support to those who cope with everyday “perfect imperfections.”
