Danny Boyle endorses Jack O’Connell as the next James Bond
Director Danny Boyle said Jack O’Connell should be cast as the new James Bond while speaking at the Zurich Film Festival.
During a panel at the Zurich Film Festival, Danny Boyle publicly backed Jack O’Connell as the ideal successor to Daniel Craig as James Bond. Boyle reflected on his earlier attachment to the series, explaining that he departed the 2021 Bond film after producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson lost confidence in his story concept with writer John Hodge. He expressed admiration for Denis Villeneuve, who is directing the next Bond movie, and suggested that Villeneuve will bring fresh energy to the franchise.
Boyle also mentioned Christopher Nolan's confidence in his own projects as a point of comparison. In a separate interview, Taron Egerton rejected speculation about him taking the role, describing Bond as a massive undertaking that does not suit his current career focus.
