DAP transport minister Loke volunteers resignation to thwart political destabilisation
Loke announced he will be the sole DAP leader to offer his resignation, aiming to prevent rivals from forcing the party out of the cabinet and destabilising the government.
Following an extensive central executive committee session, Loke declared he would be the only DAP figure to submit a resignation, a move intended to block factions seeking to pull the party from the Cabinet and create instability. He argued that adversaries are waiting for DAP’s departure to erode Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s support and force a dissolution of Parliament. Maintaining the party’s position on Najib Razak’s conditional pardon, Loke said his offer reflects a responsible decision.
He assured that, if accepted, the transport ministry would continue operating smoothly, though he would need time to settle outstanding issues before formally leaving office. The resignation letter will be presented to Anwar soon.
