Police in the Northern Territory have filed a money-laundering charge against a 33-year-old Darwin resident following a four-month investigation into illegal tobacco sales.
A four-month inquiry into the distribution of untaxed tobacco led Northern Territory Police and the Australian Border Force to execute eleven search warrants across two commercial sites, a storage unit and two homes. The operation resulted in a money-laundering charge against 33-year-old Ali Waqar. He is scheduled to appear before the Darwin Local Court later today.
