Dash0 buys Berlin's Polar Signals to embed self-optimising profiling into its platform
Observability startup Dash0 announced the purchase of Berlin-based Polar Signals, adding continuous-profiling technology to its suite.
Dash0, the New York City-based observability company founded by Mirko Novakovic, confirmed on Monday that it is acquiring Berlin startup Polar Signals. Polar Signals provides continuous profiling tools that let developers see exactly how code consumes CPU and memory, a capability that gains importance as AI workloads expand. By integrating this technology, Dash0 aims to let its platform not only detect slowdowns but also trace them to specific functions and lines, then expose the information to AI agents for automated remediation.
New features like AutoTune will automatically generate improvement suggestions and create pull requests when inefficiencies are found. The purchase also includes Polar Signals' engineering staff and its Great Lakes storage engine, which Dash0 intends to use as the backbone of its new SignalStore system, replacing ClickHouse. The acquisition follows Dash0’s recent unicorn status after a $110 million Series B funding round backed by investors such as Balderton Capital, Accel and others, and adds to its customer base that already includes Taco Bell and The Telegraph.
Why it matters
The deal gives Dash0 advanced profiling tools and AI-driven code optimisation, potentially reshaping how enterprises manage software performance.
