DDA releases FAQs to simplify Delhi's new MPD-2047 master plan

The Delhi Development Authority published a FAQ guide to help stakeholders understand the MPD-2047 master plan that took effect on August 20, 2026.

The Delhi Development Authority has issued a comprehensive FAQ document to demystify the Master Plan for Delhi 2047, which became official on August 20, 2026, replacing the earlier 2021 plan. Prompted by Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the FAQs address topics such as permissible floor-area ratios for group housing, land-pooling mechanisms, and the optional transit-oriented development scheme. Specific redevelopment criteria are outlined for residential, commercial, industrial and public-semi-public zones, with minimum plot sizes and eligibility details.

The plan also explains the allocation of land under pooling schemes and the use of transferable development rights. An online feedback facility has been introduced to collect suggestions from citizens and developers.

Why it matters
