Defense attorney claims no proof Lindsay Clancy killed her children

At a post-trial hearing, lawyer Kevin Reddington argued that the prosecution has offered no evidence that Lindsay Clancy murdered her kids.

In a hearing following her trial, Lindsay Clancy's counsel, Kevin Reddington, moved for a judicial finding of not guilty, asserting that the evidence presented was insufficient for a rational jury to convict beyond a reasonable doubt. He highlighted the absence of any confession or direct proof, calling the case speculative and pointing to disputed items like body-temperature data and statements from her former husband, Patrick.

This stance contrasts sharply with Reddington's earlier courtroom remarks that implied Clancy accepted responsibility. Prosecutor Shanan Buckingham countered that the trial record is voluminous and substantiates the verdict, and Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz said the office is conducting a thorough review. Legal analysts described the strategy shift as unusual and possibly aimed at deterring a retrial. The court has scheduled the next hearing for Nov. 2.
