Defense Department denounces forged letter allegedly signed by Secretary Teodoro

The Department of National Defense warned that a letter circulating on social media, supposedly signed by Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. and addressed to Peter Enzminger, is fabricated. Assistant Secretary Arsenio Andolong stated the document’s content is entirely false and part of a foreign interference campaign aimed at undermining the Philippines’ sovereignty. The letter, dated July 31, references alleged maritime law-enforcement actions in the West Philippine Sea and political matters within the country.

DND officials have handed the matter over to the National Bureau of Investigation for further probing. They emphasized that the fake correspondence seeks to discredit legitimate government efforts. No evidence supports the claims made in the forged letter.
