Delhi biryani vendor arrested for fatally stabbing wife after affair dispute

A biryani stall owner in Delhi was taken into custody after allegedly killing his wife with a butcher's knife during an argument over his extramarital relationship.

On September 27, police received a call reporting a stabbing at a biryani stall in JJ Colony, Palam, near Kali Mata Mandir. The suspect, identified as Pradeep, allegedly attacked his wife Sonia with a butcher's knife after she accused him of an affair, inflicting multiple chest and neck wounds. Sonia was rushed to a nearby private hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

The murder case was logged and the crime branch’s anti-gangster squad (AGS) received a tip about Pradeep’s whereabouts in Dwarka Sector-20, leading to his arrest on October 2. Deputy Commissioner of Police Harsh Indora confirmed the couple had been married since 2017 and shared two sons, with their relationship marked by ongoing disputes over alleged infidelities. Authorities are still attempting to recover the weapon used in the killing.
