Delhi homeowner blocks alleged fake CBI raid after wife denies entry

A group posing as CBI officers attempted to search a Rohini residence, but the homeowner's wife refused to open the gate, prompting police involvement.

In Delhi’s Rohini area, a businessman’s home was approached by a group of eight to ten people who asserted they were CBI officials conducting a raid. The alleged officers wore uniforms bearing the CBI insignia and carried identity cards, yet they failed to present a valid search warrant. The resident’s wife refused to open the gate, even after being pressured and threatened, and nearby neighbours began questioning the group.

The impostors claimed the required notice was inside their vehicle and departed to retrieve it. The family then dialed the police helpline 112, after which officers arrived at the location. A WhatsApp message, later deleted, purportedly signed by the CBI Director was also sent to the complainant’s father, but the family provided a screenshot as evidence. Police are examining CCTV recordings and investigating the suspected fraud.
