Delhi police locate kidnapped toddler in Bihar after 1,000 km chase
A three-year-old taken from a Delhi hospital was found in Munger district, Bihar, after police followed the suspect over 1,000 km.
On Aug 27, a toddler vanished from GGS Hospital in Khyala when his mother stepped away to collect medicines. Police reviewed CCTV and saw an unknown woman taking the child, later identified as Chunari Devi, a 31-year-old temporary resident of Madipur originally from Bihar. Using video and intelligence, officers tracked her journey toward Madipur and then across more than 1,000 km to Asnaha village in Munger district, Bihar, where the child was rescued.
Devi was located and questioned, stating she had six daughters and had taken the boy to raise as her own son due to medical complications preventing another child. The boy was returned to Delhi and reunited with his family.
