Dell executive predicts AI agents will reshape corporate workflows and hardware needs
Rob Bruckner says companies will soon redesign processes around AI agents rather than fitting agents into human-created workflows, prompting demand for more powerful local PCs.
Rob Bruckner, a veteran of the tech sector, told ET AI that most businesses are currently adapting AI agents to human-centric workflows instead of rethinking the entire process. He predicts a future where organizations craft workflows that exploit agents’ ability to link tasks and reduce human coordination bottlenecks, delivering substantial optimization. Dell is already observing a trend toward workstations equipped with 32 GB or 64 GB of RAM to support bigger AI models, as well as increased local storage for datasets.
This shift blurs the line between Dell’s PC and infrastructure divisions, especially with upcoming products like the Dell Pro Max using Nvidia’s Grace Blackwell platform and planned Windows on Arm and Microsoft Intune support. Bruckner adds that the choice between cloud and on-premise AI will increasingly hinge on “intelligence per dollar.” Larger enterprises face legacy system challenges, whereas smaller firms can adopt AI-first designs more easily.
