Demi Lovato Returns to Camp Rock Franchise with Cameo in New Disney Film
Demi Lovato will appear briefly as Mitchie Torres in the upcoming Disney Channel movie Camp Rock 3, which also streams on Disney+.
The entertainment studio confirmed that Demi Lovato will make a cameo as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock 3, the latest entry of the musical series that originally aired in 2008 and 2010. The 33-year-old artist also holds an executive-producer credit, sharing the role with the Jonas Brothers, who will again portray the fictional band Connect 3. Disney plans a Los Angeles premiere on Monday, followed by a Disney Channel broadcast on Thursday and a Disney+ streaming release on Friday.
According to the studio’s synopsis, Connect 3 loses its opening act for a major reunion tour and returns to Camp Rock to scout fresh talent, sparking competition and new relationships among the campers. Production for most of the movie was completed last fall in Vancouver, Canada. Lovato’s breakout came from the original Camp Rock soundtrack, notably the duet “This Is Me” with Joe Jonas, and she has since released nine studio albums.
