Democratic challenger Dan Koh vows immediate impeachment of Trump if House flips

Democratic nominee Dan Koh said he would move to impeach Donald Trump on the first day Congress reconvenes if Democrats regain the House.

Dan Koh, a former aide to Joe Biden who secured the Democratic nomination for Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District, announced he would seek to impeach Donald Trump on day one if Democrats win back control of the House. In an interview, Koh argued that Trump’s use of presidential time on symbolic acts and alleged constitutional violations justified immediate action. He later listed five impeachment counts on X, including abuse of power, political retaliation, court defiance, and denial of constitutional rights.

The statement ignited a fierce backlash among MAGA supporters, who labeled the comments seditious and accused Koh of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Several users called for the Democratic Party to be outlawed, while Koh’s campaign did not respond to comment requests. Trump previously dismissed the prospect, calling himself one of the nation’s greatest presidents.

Why it matters

The pledge highlights how impeachment is becoming a political tool in upcoming congressional battles.
