Amazon refuted the portrayal, explaining that a teammate collapsed during a shift because of a pre-existing medical issue, and that CPR-trained personnel and emergency services were summoned.

The statement confirmed the employee later passed away. Amazon's response emphasized the actions taken by on-site safety teams and emergency responders, while Talarico continued to highlight the incident as a critique of the company's practices.
