Democratic Senate super PAC reports $354 million raised as election nears
The Senate Majority PAC says it has collected $354 million through Oct. 14, including $88 million in the first two weeks of the month, as Democrats push to retake the Senate.
The Senate Majority PAC, the leading Democratic super PAC targeting Senate races, disclosed that it has raised $354 million through Oct. 14, a record for the organization. Contributions spiked in early October, bringing in roughly $88 million, and the PAC holds $32.7 million in its account. Spokesperson Lauren French said the timing is critical as the campaign enters its final stretch.
Despite the impressive haul, the PAC is still out-funded by the Republican Senate Leadership Fund, which has secured more than $423 million, bolstered by billionaire Elon Musk’s $158 million donation that was directed to Texas Senate candidate Ken Paxton. Democrats contend that robust candidate fundraising and aggressive advertising can mitigate the GOP’s monetary edge, but the Republican map remains favorable as the election approaches.
