Democrats May Push Former Prince Andrew to Testify in US Over Epstein Ties

If Democrats secure control of Congress, they plan to subpoena Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to testify about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Ahead of the upcoming US midterm elections, Democrats indicated they would press for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the ex-Duke, to testify before Congress about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. Suhas Subramanyam, the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee, pledged to demand answers and to help British authorities access the full Epstein file set. The initiative is part of a larger effort by opposition lawmakers to deepen scrutiny of the financier’s network.

Additional members such as Ro Khanna and Teresa Leger Fernandez have echoed calls for the former prince’s testimony. Mountbatten-Windsor, who was arrested in the UK after US Department of Justice documents linked him to Epstein, continues to assert his innocence. Legal challenges over the seizure of evidence at his Sandringham residence remain unresolved, with a 2027 ruling pending on the admissibility of the material.

Why it matters

The potential testimony could reveal new details about Epstein's network and affect UK-US cooperation on the investigation.
