Denmark clinches fourth consecutive world title in 4000m team pursuit

The Danish quartet of Rasmus Lund, Lasse Norman Leth, Frederik Rodenberg and Carl-Frederik Bévort won gold in the 4000 m team pursuit at the world championships in Shanghai, beating Italy.

In Shanghai, the Danish 4000 m team pursuit squad—Rasmus Lund, Lasse Norman Leth, Frederik Rodenberg and Carl-Frederik Bévort—captured gold, marking the nation's fourth consecutive world championship in the event. Their performance outpaced the Italian team, which included notable cyclists Filippo Ganna and Jonathan Milan, by over four seconds. The Danes completed the race in just under four minutes, reinforcing Denmark's dominance with a sixth overall title in the discipline.

The win follows earlier successes in 2009 and 2020 and comes after Denmark’s recent Olympic defeats to Italy in 2021 and 2024. Although Niklas Larsen missed the final due to illness, the team looks ahead to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, hoping to translate this triumph into Olympic gold.
