Deputy Governor İhsan Ayrancı dies from gunshot wound in Afyonkarahisar

İhsan Ayrancı, the deputy governor of Afyonkarahisar, was found with a headshot in a hotel parking lot and died despite emergency treatment.

İhsan Ayrancı, 46, the deputy governor and secretary general of the Special Provincial Administration in Afyonkarahisar, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head in a hotel parking area on October 8 and later died in hospital despite emergency care. A memorial ceremony honored his service, and officials have launched both judicial and administrative investigations into the shooting. Ayrancı was born in Suluova, Amasya, and graduated from Istanbul University's Faculty of Political Sciences. His career included district governor roles in Kale (Denizli), Çaykara (Trabzon), Gölbaşı (Adıyaman), and Mut (Mersin), as well as a deputy governorship in Erzincan from 2018 to 2021 before moving to Afyonkarahisar in late 2024.
