Deputy manager at SUTD faces cheating and forgery charges over illegal football bookings
A 41-year-old deputy manager at SUTD will be charged with cheating and forgery for making over 180 unauthorized football-field bookings that cost the university more than S$130,000.
Singapore Police Force announced that a 41-year-old deputy manager at the Singapore University of Technology and Design will be arraigned on charges of cheating and forgery. Investigators received a tip in July 2025 alleging that the employee had repeatedly booked the university’s football facilities without authorization, tallying more than 180 illegal reservations over roughly three years. The fraudulent bookings are estimated to have deprived SUTD of over S$130,000 in revenue, and the suspect is believed to have erased booking logs to conceal the misconduct.
The offences carry potential imprisonment of up to three years for cheating and up to four years for forgery, along with possible fines. Authorities emphasized a zero-tolerance stance toward abuse of trusted positions. The court hearing is set for Wednesday, September 23.
