Deputy Prime Minister says PuTERA35 implementation hits 68.55% by end of August

Deputy Prime Minister and Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi reported that the PuTERA35 programme reached a 68.55% implementation level by the end of August. He noted that 628 development programmes have been launched across relevant ministries, with 214 completed and 318 still in the implementation phase. Zahid emphasized that the true success of PuTERA35 will be measured by increased Bumiputera ownership, control and competitiveness, not merely by the number of projects.

The statement came after he chaired the Bumiputera Economic Council Steering Committee, which focused on strengthening economic resilience and speeding up measurable outcomes. The council also discussed actions to support Bumiputera entrepreneurs, including follow-up on seven declarations from the Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Convention 2035, such as promoting women entrepreneurs, creating “Bumiputera Champions,” expanding export markets, and improving governance.
