Derby Police Probe Alleged Assault Linked to England Bowler Brydon Carse Arrest

Derbyshire Police are investigating claims of assault after England bowler Brydon Carse was briefly handcuffed outside a Derby nightclub.

Derbyshire Police announced an investigation into alleged assault after England bowler Brydon Carse was seen in handcuffs outside a Derby nightclub on Saturday night. Social-media footage captured the 31-year-old with officers after he was arrested on suspicion of drunken disorderly conduct, then quickly released when he agreed to depart the vicinity. Authorities later clarified that a man in his 30s had been detained near Molly Malone's bar and de-arrested shortly thereafter.

The police have not made any further arrests and the probe remains ongoing. The England and Wales Cricket Board said the incident would be examined by the Cricket Regulator and consequently removed Carse from the squad for the second Test against Pakistan. Carse has been approached for comment, while the ECB has offered no further statement.
